Sweater Weather Tag

Hey guys!
I'm so giddy that it's finally cooling down!  Even more excited because walking in to stores and you instantly get in to the holiday spirit with the holiday music and decorations.  I'm so excited to start decorating for Christmas I just can't make up my mind about what color scheme to go with this year.

I also have to apoligize for being MIA for almost a month now, but I had been having family over for the past couple of weekends (which is also getting me more excited for the holiday) and I couldn't find the time to film or blog, but I hope you enjoy this video I filmed especially for you guys!

Summer Beauty Favorites

Hey guys!
Where has this year gone, can you believe it's fall already?  I'm still in a tiny state of shock because Walmart already has their Christmas stuff out!  It might have started to fell like fall where you're from but where I live it's basically summer all year round.  Anyway, enough about the seasons!  The reason for this post is because one of my all time favorite type of videos to watch is the monthly favorites that so many beauty gurus have made a staple to their YouTube channel and I look forward to watching theirs every month.  I was so excited about filming those types of videos but I realized that I don't try out that many new products every month but I do know that my make up products do change between seasons so I decided at least for the time being to make an end of season beauty favorites video.

This is my current beauty favorites that I loved to use all summer long.

George Strait, The Cowboy Rides Away

Hey guys!
I wanted to share this exciting experience, and if you're a country fan you probably might've heard of him.  Around here in Texas we simply refer to him as The King, Mr. George Strait!  I went to his concert in June 2013 and let me tell you it was a show.  It ended up being a 6 hour long concert with performances from Martina McBride and Miranda Lambert (they were amazing too might I add)
Excuse the horrible picture quality, no DSLRs aloud in the arena.

This was huge for because I can count the times I've been to a concert in one hand, and this was no ordinary concert, 78,000 people singing along to songs you grew up with, touched your heart, made you cry, made you happy, made you think, made you drink, helped you say "Goodbye, farewell, Vaya con Dios" to an old flame.  It was chilling to say the least and now every time I hear one of his songs I'll always remember that this Troubadour.  Hope to get one last concert next year for the final league of his farewell tour.

Macadamia Natural Oil Nourishing Leave-In Cream

About two years ago I purchased the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque and the Leave-In Cream.  I absolutely loved the deep repair mask I use it once a week and have since repurchased it.  I had seen so many people rave it about it, and I can see why.  The very first time I used it I saw a noticeable difference in my hair.  Well, I could go on and on about the mask but this blog is about the Leave-In Cream.
When I first used it, I put it in my hair after I washed my house and left it on overnight.  After a few times I didn’t know if it was the mask or the leave in cream that was causing the better change in my hair so I decided to split them up, however I noticed that with just the leave in cream nothing too great happened to my hair so I stopped using it for a good while.  After seeing it in my hair drawer so many times I decided I wanted to use it up so I gave it different uses.  And let me tell you I fell in love with it.  It has now become a staple in my hair styling routine.

A little background on my hair.
I have naturally wavy/curly hair, if I let it air dry without any product I will look like a troll! :D Yes a troll, and no I’m not exaggerating.  My hair is just naturally super dry which is why the deep repair mask has dramatically improved my hair texture.

Because of my job and laziness J I usually make a ponytail in the mornings and I’m out the door from Monday-Friday.  However, most weekends I like to doll up my hair a little more and that includes more often than not blow drying my hair.  Now, if you have long AND curly hair you know what a drag blow drying your hair is.  It’s very time consuming, and since you’re blowing all the moisture out of your hair your hair ends up looking really damaged, and frizzy.

I have found that using this product before I blow dry my hair cuts the dry time to a fraction of the time, and it locks in some of that moisture and my hair looks a lot more healthy and shiny after the blow dry and if you’re like me and that’s not enough, when I straighten my hair with a straightening iron or curl it with a curling iron my hair still retains the moisture and it does look a lot better than if I didn’t use the product.

I see myself using this product every single time I blow dry my hair because if I don’t I’m sure my hair will frizz up and not hold the style within a few hours.

I hope you enjoyed this post!

Candle wax saving tip

I love candles!
I love the way they make a room smell and the ambiance it creates, but after the candle burns out it leaves about half of inch of wax.  After buying so many candles and realizing that that's just going to waste I decided to make one canlde out of all the leftover wax that I had laying around.
Here's my video of how I do that.

Hope you enjoy it!

Color Corrector Gone Bad

Okay so, I had been wanting to try out the Ombre hair for a few months now but since last year I made the brilliant decision to dye my hair off-black, every time I would go to a hair salon to ask about it they look at me like I'm crazy and say my hair won't get any lighter PERIOD!  My response to that was always "Well, I don't want it that much lighter than my hair color anyway, can't we just try it out."  NO?  Really?  Okay, bye!

I know, I know, it's their job to tell me that, and I know I'm not a hair dresser and I know NOTHING about hair coloring, but really, no one can try it and see how it goes?  I know the terms and I'm not the type of person that would refuse to pay for a service I already received.

Anyhow, I decided I'm going to do it myself. - Yeah!

With everything in mind and like I said I didn't know anything about hair bleaching/coloring I went into a research frenzy.  I wanted to  find out what I needed to do, what products to use, what brand was best to try, what's more accessible, what store to go to, should I order it online,  what's the actual process like, etc.  I turned to YouTube and watched at least 50 videos about hair bleaching, and Ombre hair.  They were some great ones I must add!  While I was researching all that I heard about products called color correctors which could basically remove permanent dye from your hair in order to make it easier to bleach it.  I came across one from Sally's Beauty Supple store, which was the easiest since I have a Sally's in my area.

This is the product I used

Ion Color Brilliance Color Corrector

The first thing I noticed about this product was the smell, it wasn't that bad right out of the box, however, once I mixed the two products together and let it sit a few minutes it smelled HORRIBLE!

Like I said, I let it sit for a few minutes while I got some other stuff done around the house and when I came back to my room I noticed that something smelled like rotten eggs.  As I sniffed around to see where the rotten smell was coming from I noticed that it was this color corrector.  Even after debating to put that in my hair for a few minutes I decided that because of the strength of the smell that it would probably take a few washes to get that out of my hair I dumped it in a trash bag and took it to the trash can outside immediately.

Because of this I'm not able to fully review this product.  However, if after this warning you are braver than I am and do decide to try out this product please let me know what you think and send me a comment.

Thanks!

Maria
